Troopers find Millville shooting victim in speeding car

MILLVILLE - State police notified the city force Wednesday evening that they'd pulled over a speeding vehicle on Route 55, only to find the car's passenger had been shot and was rushing to a hospital.

Millville police on Thursday said the 46-year-old man, whose name was not released, claimed he was shot in the leg not long before while walking on the 400 block of Sassafras Street.

Millville Detective Lt. Ross Hoffman said the man was treated at Inspira Medical Center Vineland, and then transferred in stable condition to Cooper University Hospital in Camden.

“The officers could not locate any evidence or witness to the shooting in the area described by the victim,” Hoffman said.
