Take a Hike Tours will continue on Saturdays into December

The Take a Hike Tour program is extending its stay, on Saturdays, this year until Dec. 9.

The tours usually go from May to September but, because of popular demand, the show will go on.

"Playhouse Square got a great response from the tours," says Tom Yablonsky, executive director at Historic Warehouse District Development Corp. "They asked that we extend it."

The focus of the fall tour, titled "2017 Historic Euclid Avenue Tour," will be on the Linda Eastman character, portrayed by Leah Smith. Eastman was instrumental in hoisting the Cleveland Public Library to the national stage.

The Eastman portrayals will perform near the Cleveland Public Library's Eastman Reading Garden on Saturday, Oct. 21, Nov. 4, Nov. 25 and Dec. 9.

Also, alternating during this extended run, will be Mayor Tom Johnson, Garrett Morgan, Alan Freed and Milton Krantz. Tours start at 10 a.m. at the Hyatt Arcade, Euclid Ave. entrance foyer.
