Dawn Staley picks up pair of top recruits

The South Carolina women's basketball team won't see game action for more than another month, but that isn't stopping head coach Dawn Staley from building momentum.

It's been a good week for Staley's program, as she's picked up two of the nation's top 54 players for the 2017 cycle in forward LaDazhia Williams and wing Bianca Jackson. Williams is ranked as the No. 47 player in the class, while Jackson sits at No. 54.

A 6-foot-2 forward, Williams has offers from top-flight schools, including Florida State, Ohio State and North Carolina. The Florida native was also invited to tryouts for the under-18 national team in May.

Jackson is the daughter of two Alabama State basketball coaches, and she's rated as the No. 11 wing in the country. The 5-foot-11 Alabama native announced her commitment on Twitter Monday night.

Williams and Jackson join Elisia Grissett, the No. 31 player in the class, and Haley Troup as the Gamecocks' four commits for the 2017 class.
