New York Fashion Week will be finding a new home.

IMG, which organizes the event, has been scouting new locations for several months and did not plan to remain at Lincoln Center after February 2015, according to WWD. In the meantime, a new court settlement actually prohibits the group from renewing the Lincoln Center contract.

According to settlement papers filed in New York Supreme Court on Tuesday, NYC Park Advocates Inc., Committee for Environmentally Sound Development Inc. and several other groups emerged victorious in a lawsuit against New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, the City of New York and Lincoln Center for Performing Arts.

At issue was the fact that public access to Lincoln Center Park was limited during the period Fashion Week is held in February and September.

The settlement bars IMG, which runs New York Fashion Week, from renewing its contract with Lincoln Center when it expires in a few months. It’s an interesting development considering that more and more major brands have chosen to exhibit at other city venues in recent seasons.

The news was first reported by the blog “A Walk in the Park,” which focuses on news and issues related to the city’s park system.
