Colombo 2017: Explain the competitions – how can you compete?

The 4th Asia Pacific Choir Games will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2017. The participation information has been published recently and we will explain to you, where your choir can compete.

Like other continental Choir Games by INTERKULTUR also the Asia Pacific Choir Games 2017 in Colombo will offer three different competitions designed for choirs from different levels and regions.

The Open Competition is open to choirs from all over the world, regardless of their present level of achievement. In the spirit of „Participation is the highest honor“ every choral group has the opportunity to participate in the Open Competition to gather valuable experience in international competition.

The Asia Pacific Champions Competition has been designed exclusively for choirs from the Asia Pacific region with international competitive experience and /or comparable credentials. Participation is on decision of the Artistic Committee.

In accordance with the philosophy of INTERKULTUR events to be accessible to all amateur choirs from all over the world there will be a third competition open to choirs from everywhere that have corresponding international competitive experience and that have proven their abilities in international choral competitions: Grand Prix of Nations Colombo 2017. Participation is also by decision of the Artistic Committee.

All three competitions will be held in ten different categories of various styles and genres, among them Children’s, Youth, Chamber and Adult Choirs, Musica Sacra, Gospel, Jazz and Folklore categories.
