This summer, the Contact Center Operations (CCO) leadership added a service component to their annual strategy meeting in Sandy, Utah. It was clear from the beginning that it was important to give back to the community. In their search for a local cause, they connected with the Salt Lake’s Boys & Girls Club, just a few miles north of our local site.

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salt Lake helps thousands of kids succeed in school, make healthy choices and become good citizens. Collectively, they serve more than 7,000 youth annually. This time of year, their students are all buzzing with anticipation for the back-to-school season. So, when the Boys & Girls Club expressed a need for backpacks and school supplies, the leadership team was excited to help. They learned that every year, the Boys & Girls Club receives many donations for younger students, leaving a gap for older students with back-to-school needs. With that, the team kicked-off their backpack drive that would specifically support youth in middle school and high school.

During the strategy meeting, 61 CCO leaders rolled up their sleeves to pack 62 backpacks with various donated supplies. Maximus donated backpacks and employees donated more than $2,000 worth of school supplies! Our employees care, and this is just one example of how they are making an immediate difference in our communities. This school year, we want to recognize their positive impact in Utah. They gave students the confidence to start school off on the right foot… and a backpack full of much-needed supplies.
