WINTER GRAZING SEMINAR INFO RELEASED
Sustainability in natural resources and beef production focus of 2015 Winter Grazing Seminar

Perspectives on sustainability in Montana’s agriculture and natural resources will be the central focus of the 2015 Winter Grazing Seminar, to be held Jan. 21-22 in Billings, Mont., at the Billings Hotel & Convention Center. 

The first day of the seminar will feature Wayne Fahsholtz, currently with AgWin Group LLC in Dayton, Wyo., and a past president of the Padlock Ranch. Fahsholtz will give a presentation on enabling sustainable ranch success. Jill Herold, from Syngenta, will follow with a talk on sustainability in Montana.

MWCC SEEKING EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

MWCC seeks a motivated and dynamic individual to lead our growing statewide organization. Applicants should be familiar with watersheds and natural resource issues in Montana, and must demonstrate success in accomplishing day-to-day duties as well as capitalizing on big-picture opportunities. This is a full-time position based in Helena, Montana. Applications will be accepted through January 12, 2015. See our Updates page for a full position description. ANNOUNCING WATERSHED WEDNESDAY @ THE CAPITOL - 1/28

 


Watershed Wednesday is an event that MWCC hosts during legislative years for watershed groups to come to Helena and table during the legislature. This is an educational opportunity to share the great work you do with our representatives. This year’s WW will be an afternoon session and MWCC will provide coffee and treats for legislators and staff.  This event is also coordinated with MWCC’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday, January 29th so that you can travel once for two great events.  We hope that you will be able to join us. Travel stipends to these events are available.

MWCC ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING - 1/29


Attendees of 2014 Annual General Meeting

MWCC will be hosting its AGM at the Montana Wild center in Helena, on Thursday, January 29 from 9-4. This year's focus will be on the 2015 Legislative Session and will include: 
  • A panel discussion on natural resource issues affecting Montana in 2015 
  • Navigating the legislative session including how to use the LAWS tracking system for bills, and tips for getting involved
  • Agency updates on proposed legislation and what it could mean at the local level
  • Round-robin updates from MWCC members
There will also be brief updates from MWCC as well as a catered networking lunch. Stay tuned for a complete agenda. We hope you can take time to join us and look forward to seeing you!
