Lights of Christmas past: Are your favorites in this gallery of classic Huntsville lights?

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The full-front-yard extravaganza of Dr. John Higgenbotham's house on Horseshoe Trail. The "tree" formed by stringing bright colored lights from the Saturn V at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. The Huntsville Times building with Santa on the roof.

If you've lived in Huntsville for any length of time, you remember these local Christmas scenes and more. We're not saying Clark Griswold got the idea for his lights from us, but residents of the Tennessee Valley were testing TVA's power supply. This gallery from The Huntsville Times archives shows some of our favorites from Christmases past.
