The ‘Tesla Tiny House’ is coming to the University of Wollongong’s Innovation Campus on Thursday, August 23 from 4pm to 7pm.
The house, typically based at Tesla’s Sydney offices, has been on a national tour in recent times, including visits to Berry and the Southern Highlands.
Simmark Wollongong, in partnership with the Innovation Campus, Sustainable Buildings Research Centre and Tesla are hosting the event.
The Illawarra community can learn about running a fully sustainable house with solar and battery power.
The public can tour the Tesla Tiny House, a fully sustainable house powered by 100 per cent renewable energy via a 2kW solar system and Powerwall.
According to organisers, this free event will enable attendees to have a one-on-one educational experience on how to integrate Powerwall and solar to power an entire home 24/7, allowing home owners to gain control and understanding of their power use.
There will be free energy seminars. The public can also meet the team from Simmark Wollongong, the SBRC, the Innovation Campus, Alternative Technology Association and Sustainable Illawarra.
The house will also visit Shellharbour Civic Centre on Friday, August 24 from 12pm to 5pm.
