ALLOUEZ (WLUK) -- A hygiene drive had 900 boxes set up at schools, churches and businesses since mid-February. Now that those boxes have been filled, it's time to actually deliver the products.
One school is feeling particularly proud of its students and their families for their generosity.
Despite its small size, Langlade Elementary School in Allouez collected over 2,200 hygiene products as part of the Family Radio Network's 31st Annual "Help for the Homeless" Hygiene Drive.
"Well, Langlade families always blow me away with how wonderful and supportive they are," said Langlade Principal Melissa Wojcik. "So, while I'm shocked that our school of under 300 students could bring in over 2,200 items, it doesn't shock me too much because we have a very supportive school network here."
The collected hygiene products will be picked up and distributed to 100 crisis programs around Northeast and Central Wisconsin.
Last year's drive collected over $500,000 worth of supplies.
FOX 11 is a sponsor of this year's hygiene drive.
