Greenlawn Family Recognized for Supporting Smile Train

Huntington Town Board honors family for raising $86,000 to help those needing cleft surgeries.

James and Kelli Pastorelli and their 7-year-old daughter Ella, of Greenlawn, were honored by Councilwoman Susan A. Berland at the Dec. 9 Huntington Town Board Meeting in recognition of their support of Smile Train.

The organization oversees more than 128,000 cleft surgeries a year in 87 of the poorest countries around the world. Ella was born with a cleft lip and received the required surgery. In honor of Ella, every year the Pastorelli family hosts “Ella’s Lemonade Stand,” which has raised over $86,000 to benefit Smile Train.

Berland presented the Pastorelli family with a proclamation. The family was joined by Smile Train CEO Susannah Schaefer.
