Trader Joe’s of Millburn has recently started a program with SAGE Eldercare in Summit to share their unsalable flowers with local residents.

A few times each week, the grocery store brings flowers that cannot be sold to SAGE so they can be delivered with Meals On Wheels. One recent delivery brought tears to the older woman’s eyes, as it was her birthday, and another woman takes all of the flowers and puts them in numerous vases around her home.

Last year, SAGE delivered more than 44,000 meals to 250 residents of local communities in parts of Union, Essex, and Morris Counties.
