A special screening of a documentary featuring a Nashville songwriter’s battle with HIV/AIDS will benefit an AIDS walk.

“Beautiful Jim” recounts the story of Jimbeau Hinson, a songwriter who delivered hits like “Party Crowd” for David Lee Murphy and “Fancy Free” for the Oak Ridge Boys and lived for more than a decade with a secret HIV diagnosis.

The documentary tells of Hinson’s scrapes with death and features live music recorded at Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe and Douglas Corner. Hinson is now considered HIV undetectable.

Hinson will take part in a Q&A after the screening.
