Nick Saban stops by Nicks Kids Luncheon, honors RISE School Director Martha Cook for decades of service

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- Nick's Kids Foundation hosted its third annual Teacher Excellence Awards Luncheon, Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at the Tuscaloosa River Market in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Nick Saban made a special appearance to honor the outgoing Director of the RISE School, Martha Cook, for her decades of service to the school.

Each school's principal nominated a teacher who goes above and beyond the required responsibilities inside and outside of the classroom.

Nick's Kids gave a $500 gift to each honoree.

"The Tuscaloosa City Schools are fortunate to have so many great teachers who work tirelessly for the students they serve. The recognition by Nick's Kids is a terrific way to thank and recognize such a deserving group of educators," said Mike Daria, on behalf of the Tuscaloosa City School System.
