- We get most of our funding from grants, but gifts from readers let us pursue new education issues even before everyone is talking about them
- We’ve collaborated with 54 news outlets this year and produced over 475 stories: more than double 2013; They’ve been liked on Facebook 200,000 times
- We’ve won more than 20 journalism awards, but many people still can’t pronounce our name: HECK-en-jer

We first launched The Hechinger Report in 2010 with a tiny staff and limited funds. With your help, we’ve become a thriving nonprofit newsroom that produces in-depth journalism about inequality and innovation.
We cannot wait to unveil our newly designed website next year and publish new projects, from blended learning to the revamping of U.S. high schools to the continuing challenges of the Common Core and college access for low-income students.
Next year, we’ll be bringing you more analysis of data, enhanced higher education coverage and in-depth reporting on efforts to improve schools in California, Detroit, New Orleans, Mississippi and elsewhere.
