Interim Place has been providing shelter and support services for women in Peel Region who face violence for over 32 years. Since 1981 Interim Place has assisted well over 40,000 women and children over the years find safety, heal and build new lives free of abuse. We are committed to working with women where they are at and within a feminist, anti-racist, anti-oppression framework. We believe that ALL women and children have a right to access supports and live a life free of violence.

This workshop is intended to increase awareness, challenge assumptions and foster understanding. We are committed to inclusion and access and as such recognize the value of diverse experience, as known by all women. We commit to centring the voices of lived experience especially as related to substance use, mental health, child welfare and violence. We further recognize women living these experiences often have less power, both contributing to and deriving from such experiences.

Together we will explore intersections including our role as allies and advocates in support of Mother centered care.
