Why you should read it: Fletcher. Bayler. Best. Match. EVER!

“I wanted friendship with her, but I wanted benefits with it. I wanted the benefits of breaking all of our rules again and again.”

From the very beginning, I was hooked! This was such a good read and I'm so excited to have discovered Steph Nuss and for the opportunity to read Pleasured By You.

One mysterious Jane Doe and one rich John Smith, both craving a night of no strings attached, steamy fun that turns into so much more.

“Some people are worth facing our fears.”

Fletcher is an entrepreneur who owns several businesses in the New York area and is friends with a tight knit group of individuals. After one mind blowing New Years hook-up, he can't stop thinking about his Jane Doe. As several months go by, he's invited to his best friend's wedding, where to his surprise, he learns that Jane Doe is actually his best friend's sister!

Bayler has watched her girl friends get their hearts broken her whole adult life and she's determined never to fall into that trap. She has rules. No sleep overs and no repeats. Until Fletcher comes into her life and she wants to break her rules and his.

It was this. It was her. It was us.

Right away I could tell Fletch and Bayler were made for each other. They're both crazy, sassy, and honestly just great people. They each had their hang ups but I loved watching them work through it all together. I'm also very impressed that Steph incorporated “Awareness” into her novels. In this novel, she showcases the Big Brother Big Sister program aimed at mentorship for young people and Support Our Troops with the yellow front cover.

“You are one crazy bitch. You pushed me out of the fucking plane!”

I won't give too much away but let's just say this is a must read if you're looking for some well written fluff with an HEA.

Rating: 5 “fear facing” Stars!

I really enjoy Steph's books. Just last week I did a spotlight on the Love in the City series, so it's no surprise that I LOVED THIS BOOK. I even documented my read on here on Goodreads, which is something I say that I will do, but never actually do it. But I wanted people to know how much I enjoyed it.

description

Fletcher and Bayler are officially my favorite "Love in the City" couple. They are perfect for each other. They meet on New Year's Eve at one of Fletcher's clubs. He sees her and instantly knows that he has to take her home. She obliges and the two of them have a mind blowing night together. Since they give each other fake names, they have no idea who they are with. And who are they exactly? Well Bayler is Carter & Harper's sister and Fletcher is one of Carter's best friends.

Skip to 5 months later and SURPRISE!!! They are reunited at Carter & Elly's wedding. They manage to control themselves for the weekend, but soon after Bayler moves to NYC and all bets are off! They start the typical friends with benefits secret relationship that soon turns into more.

Fletcher meets his match with Bayler. She doesn't take any of his crap and can put him in his places when he needs it. I need to talk about Fletcher for a minute. He is a ladies man with a heart of gold. He is a successful businessman who loves his grandmother. Fletcher is also extremely sexy, sweet, loyal, protective and has a way with words.
“I love you, Bayler, and I know that’s really scary for you to hear. I know you don’t open your heart easily, and you’re worried about getting hurt, but . . . Do you remember what you said to me after you pushed me out of the plane?” (Yeah she pushed him OUT OF A PLANE. I said Fletcher met his match for a reason!)

“How could I forget?” I laughed, blinking back tears. “I told you that you had nothing to worry about because you had a parachute.”

“Let me be your parachute.” His hands cupped my face as he stared down at me intensely. “Let me be your parachute, and I promise you’ll never have to worry about getting hurt. Sure, we’re going to fight and disagree, and there are going to be days where we hate each other, but I will always be there for you because I love you.”

Tears fell out of my eyes fast as I held onto him and smiled. “I love you, too.”

Then he dropped his mouth to mine and delivered a kiss so pure and raw, I felt my heart open the moment his tongue tangled with mine. Running my fingers into his soft hair, I delved deeper, reveling in the deliciously hot taste of him, so bold and sensual it ignited a pleasurable throb between my legs that I’d been yearning for for weeks. It’d been so long since our last kiss that we lingered now, welcoming each other home and exploring all the sweet places we’d been before.

Oh and one last thing about Fletcher. He lost his virginity at the age of 15...I'd tell you who he lost it to, but you really need to read the book. Trust me...it's worth it.

There are so many great moments in this book. I love when the whole gang is together. In this book the ladies form a roller derby team and it is totally kick ass. I always knew that they were tough chicks, but this just proves that they truly are bad ass ladies.

There is a fantastic secondary storyline in this book that made me so happy. Both Bayler and Fletcher volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters and it turns out their Littles, Vail and Rook, go to school together and have a crush on each other. Ah young love. It was nice to see them fumble along as teenagers in a relationship while Bayler and Fletcher fumbled along as adults in a relationship. I hope they show in the future books...I need to know how they are doing!

I love that we already know that there is going to be a bunch more stories in this series. I can't wait for more group shenanigans. More weddings, babies, parties, roller derby, etc. Up next is Justin & Tessa's story next and I can't freaking wait! At one point during the story Rook says the awesome sentence, "Nice guys get the swoon" and I hope that is what happens with Justin. Fingers crossed!

I enjoy reading series such as the ones that Author Steph Nuss writes. The Love in the City series can each be read as standalones. I do recommend reading each in order because you can easily get hooked onto them. You still get to see the main characters from the previous books since they are a close knit circle of friends/family.

In this novel, we do get to know Bayler and Fletcher a bit more. The two are very similar when it comes to their dedication to their volunteer work. They are also alike when it comes to dating. Bayler and Fletcher can attract anyone, but won't be serious or even spend another evening with anyone. When these two see one another again, they really haven't forgotten about one another.

There definitely isn't a lack of hot moments between these two. They also seem to be breaking some of those dating rules of being serious about someone. Thing is though, with that tight knit group of friends/family they are a part of, they don't have a clue of what is going on between Bayler and Fletcher. It's all secret, fun and very sneaky!

You kinda get a hint of what and who the next couple for the future novel could be. There is also some news at the very end that could be considered a cliffhanger? Now Steph needs to hurry with the next novel!

Favorite Quotes:

“You weren’t a woman if you couldn’t appreciate the exhilarating scent of a hot man. A scent like that could make a smart woman stupid.”

“If I didn’t get some sort of release soon, I’d have to diddle my skittle.”

“Love is scary, but it’s the greatest, scariest thing you’ll ever experience. If he’s that for you, then you know you love him.”

My Review:

I have achieved total fan-girl status for Steph Nuss! I am rather stingy with my 5 star ratings – yet she has wrangled them from me for her entire series. I have read every book she has published, and have just added every upcoming issue she has listed in Goodreads to my TBR. Lest I be viewed with stalker fan-girl status - let me list the reasons why… Her books are exceptionally well written; the series is interconnected with the same characters yet each can be read as a stand-alone (love that); her sensual scenes are scorching hot; her characters are successful, smart, witty, likable, and well developed; and the story lines are entertaining and end with an HEA. Perfection! I certainly think so, as what more could an adult contemporary romance reader ask for?

This was really good. Nothing to terribly heavy, but not overly sweet.

Fletcher and Bayler meet on New year's eve and spend one scorching hot night together. They even go so far as to exchange fake names because they both have "rules" when it comes to the opposite sex. The problem is months later and they're still thinking about that night. They meet at a wedding and proceed to break all the rules they had in place. I had a great time watching them fall in love.

In the previous book in the Love in the City series readers were given a hint at a chance encounter between Harper’s younger sister Bayler Jennings and Maverick’s buddy, Fletcher Haney. Now in book 3 we get the scoop on their anonymous yet salacious hook-up that leaves two no-strings-attached singles reconsidering their rules.

“We were covered in sweat, trying to catch our breaths. The room smelled of sex and the bed’s sheets were tangled around us.
‘Now, that…is how you ring in the new year…’”

Fletcher and Bayler are both cute, sweet, and independent. Though in the past they embraced the love ‘em and leave ‘em before morning lifestyle, we quickly see in this story that they both have so much more to offer.

“Seriously? Why did he have to have everything I liked? I liked baking; he had a bakery. I liked the beach; he had a beach house. I liked sex; he had a package he knew how to use.”

Yep, Fletcher is a total catch. And did Bayler also happen to mention that he looks and smells like an Armani ad?

There’s lots of fun friendship moments as this series is about a great group of friends who stick together. The previous couples make plenty of appearances including scenes for the most special moments of their lives.

But the real charm for me in this tale came from the side story with Fletcher and Bayler’s Littles. They are an adorable addition of young love, and I hope at some point they get their own story. They helped illustrate the integrity of Bayler and Fletcher’s characters, and it was fun watching Bayler and Fletcher in their Big roles.

Pleasured by You is told via Bayler and Fletcher’s alternating first person point of view and while part of the series can also be read as a stand-alone.

5 Stars!

I loved this book! I absolutely adore this series and was anxious to get Fletcher's story. I love a good book with the ultimate non-committed playboy who falls hard for the one woman who can bring him to his knees. This book was super sweet, really funny, and crazy sexy.

This is Fletcher and Bayler's story. After a passionate on New Years Eve with an anonymous woman known as Jane Doe, Fletcher can't get the woman out of his head. So when he sees her again at Carter's wedding, he realizes he wants her even if he wants to deny the spark he feels for her.

Bayler is Carter's sister and supposed to be off limits to playboy Fletcher, but after their passionate encounter months prior, she can't seem to shake him or her feelings. Bayler doesn't do relationships and she likes to be in charge so she denies the spark she feels for Fletcher when she sees him again at her brother's wedding.

When a truce to be friends is made, they think that they can stand by their rules. Both are definitely not looking for love, but sometimes fate has other plans. Get ready to fall in the in the city with Fletcher and Bayler as they find out that while falling in love isn't easy, it is always worth it in the end.

Oh Fletcher how you stole my heart. And Bayler was totally kick ass. I love two strong people who come together. I loved Bayler's snarky attitude. And Fletcher was seriously naughty. It was sweet to watch these two fall even if they denied their feelings and fought against them.

I love this gang of friends and family. We get tons of glimpses into what is going on in their lives. cannot wait for the next book in this series!

I highly recommend this book.

Fun and flirty is how I would describe this book! This is by the far my favorite story in the series. You get all the rest of the clan from the other books included.
So after a one-night stand on New Years Eve, Both of them used fake names but can’t seem to get the other person off their mind. Fletcher along with the others are flying to Dallas for the wedding, while they are there Fletcher and Cash are warned to stay away from the bridesmaids. Fletcher is cool with this until he meets Carter’s sister….. With some sneaky help from Fletcher’s grandma, the two of them keep meeting and before they know it, they begin to start a fwb. Things are going really well until Baylor and the girls sign up for a roller derby tourney. Some trouble happens and they crumble. With the help of Grandma and their littles, they reunite in the cutest way possible.

Bayler and Flecher meet on New Years Eve, they come together to celebrate "bring in" the new year. After their night together they go there separate ways. They meet again, under different circumstances there best friend's wedding. They both are fighting the attraction to each other. They come to an agreement to be just friends. Can they stay away from each other or will they just be distant to break all the rules?

For me this book was ok. Nothing jumped out to me and made me want to keep reading. I had to make myself keep going, not that it was a bad book just not a whole lot to keep me intrigued.

I would rate this book 3 out of 5 fangs

Can I just say that I fall in love a little more with this author with every book that I read of hers.
Fletcher and Baylor had a one night stand on new years eve and that is where it was supposed to stay but that is not what is happening..
This book was just a fun read for me and just really enjoyable. I found myself just really enjoying the relationship between these two.. Although I'm not sure why I expected anything less from this amazing author!!!

And again Steph Nuss did it!

I have been waiting for Fletcher and Bayler's story since Steph started teasing us last year while writing this story.

The gang is all back and this time its on with Fletcher & Bayler finding out that their chemistry is one that is very hard to hide from each other & others.

They both have rules that they have never broken... until now with each other.

Chemistry is off the charts hot!

From the start, the Prologue has you needing to take a cold shower to cool off!  Loved it!  It gets even hotter later on when Bayler & Fletcher reconnect from their mystery night.

Fletcher has a heart of gold!  Even though all his friends know he is a major playboy, when it comes to giving his heart to his family & friends, he gives it 1000x percent.  His past gives him some fears that he lets get in the way of his future, but when Fletcher comes into the picture, she teaches him how to let them go.

Bayler too has a huge heart!  She is afraid to commit when .  She does not want to go thru heartbreak after seeing all her friends go thru it & so she has to learn how to accept that it is okay to let someone in and love her.  That love is not perfect and can hurt and she starts to see it with Fletcher.

This book has a good dose of humor, love and heartbreak all rolled into one.

And as always, Steph Nuss delivers us some classic lines that will stick to us forever!

Pizza and Cake are all I was craving after reading this book!

Tehee!  You have to read this book to get the reference to the above gif!

There were sooo many moments that I loved in this book!  IF I put them up all on here, I'll be spoiling the book!

Roller Derby was one of my favorites!

And then Fletcher grabbed my heart with this Quote:

Let me be your  parachute - Fletcher

Loved this book!  Go get this book & fall in love with being in love!

A must read for 2015!

★✩★✩★ 5- This Series Just Gets Better -Stars
~this review may contain minor spoilers~

I had my rules for a reason: I was Bayler Fucking Jennings, and no man was going to walk all over me and break my heart. But now Fletcher had me questioning whether or not I should break my well-established rules, and no guy had ever done that before. I had to give him props for waking the little devil on my shoulder.

Fletcher Haney is a bit of a man-whore, and he finds no shame in admitting it. He's a loaded, successful business man, who's charm could drop most anyone's panties and he takes full advantage of that. Relationships aren't his thing and he has no desire to change, besides-he's never met a woman that held his attention past one night anyway... until that fateful New Years Eve and the woman he can't get off his mind. Imagine his surprise when he discovers who she is.

Bayler Jennings doesn't do commitment. She is an independent, strong-willed woman who can take care of herself and if she never lets a man get too close to her than he can never hurt her, right? She has her own set of rules when it comes to men and sex that have kept her heart safe so far. After moving to New York to be closer to her siblings, she finds the man who has haunted her thoughts since New Year's showing up everywhere. She just can't shake him, and he won't let her. She can't deny how badly she wants him again and finds herself wanting to break her rules in order to have him... at least in some capacity. She still refuses to let him get too close and that's when Fletcher comes up with a solution. But the heart has a mind of it's own, a lesson these two are about to learn the hard way. The question is, what are they gonna do about it?

I wanted a friendship with her, but I wanted benefits with it. I wanted the benefits of breaking all our rules again and again, because the pleasure that would come from breaking them would totally be worth it. I was sure of it.

The gang is back and hotter than ever!! I gotta tell ya, after the last book I was stoked to see this book was gonna be Fletcher's as I watched his story unfold-he did NOT disappoint. That man was sex on legs and Bayler really was his perfect match. The chemistry between these two was off-the-charts hottness, the banter sexy and hilarious, they had so much in common-even their aversion to commitment, and their personalities were pure awesomeness-which of course, we already knew. I think that's one of my favorite things about this series-these friends are so close that even when we move onto a new couple we still get to spend a decent amount of time with the previous couples so we get to see their stories continue to unfold. While it's true these can be read as stand-alones, you really would be missing out by not reading all of them. This amazing group of characters are some of the most lovable, enjoyable, addicting I have ever read. Think 'Friends' meets 'Sex in the City'. There is never a dull moment and they continue to enrapture me. Fletcher and Bayler had my full attention right from the beginning and Did. Not. Let. Go. What totally took me by surprise was a bit of role-reversal; the one who ended up running scared was not who I would have originally thought. The girls took a badass turn this time around in a totally awesome way, it was a unique and fab addition to the series. I really have no complaints, hell I haven't had a single complaint since I started this series. Steph Nuss has given us a great group of people, all with their own unique personalities and quirks, all with their own vulnerabilities and insecurities, all easy to connect to and fall in love with, and all with their own stories to tell. This series has already been one helluva ride and it's not nearly done yet. There is a reason this woman has been sitting pretty on top of my One-Click-Addiction List since she first landed on my kindle and I don't see her ever going anywhere. I cannot wait to see what she brings us next and if my spidey senses are correct, a certain lovable nerd and hellcat will finally get their turn next!! **FINGERS CROSSED**

She terrified and excited me all at the same time. But fuck, never in my entire life had I felt as alive as I did when I was spending time with her, being inside of her and giving and receiving the best pleasure I'd ever experienced.
She had me by the balls, and she was easily working her way up to my heart.

Review originally posted at Ramblings From This Chick

Pleasured By You is the third book in the Love in the City Series by Steph Nuss. Each book in this series is standalone, but the characters are interconnected. I would recommend reading these in order because I have really enjoyed every book in the series and you do get to know the characters better that way, but it is not necessary to understand or enjoy each book. Though I have really enjoyed each book in the series, I think that Pleasured By You was my favorite so far. This book was really good and I liked the characters a lot.

Pastry chef Baylor Jennings doesn't do relationships, and when it comes to guys she has a set of rules that she lives by. Fletcher Haney has no problem getting women into his bed, and he also lives by a set of rules. But when they meet on New Year's Eve and spend a passionate night together, they both can't stop thinking about one another. Now months later they haven't spoken since that night, but they are brought together when they both show up at the same wedding. When Baylor moves to NYC and interviews for her dream job at a popular bakery, she quickly finds out that Fletcher is the owner. Fletcher doesn't usually sleep with women that he employs, but he finds himself breaking his own rules for the chance to be with Baylor again. When Fletcher proposes the idea of a sex only friendship between the two of them, Baylor ends up agreeing. But the more they see each other the more they begin to fall for one another and soon things aren't as casual as they had planned on. Can Baylor and Fletcher ditch their rules and find happiness together, or will Baylor continue to avoid relationships at all costs?

I really loved Fletcher. He was so sweet and kind, and so super sexy. I loved his friendships and the fact that he was a Big Brother to a kid that had needed someone. He loved spending time with Rook, and they were pretty funny together. You could tell that they both really cared about each other, and I thought it was so great that Baylor was a member of the program as well. They connected on so many levels, and that was just one of them. Baylor was independent and sassy, and I was really glad that she was so comfortable with herself and her desires. But I didn't really like how she continued to think that she couldn't have a future with someone. She didn't have a reason for it at all, and I think that was what bothered me the most. She hadn't been hurt, so her reluctance to have anything with Fletcher despite her growing feelings for him just didn't make sense to me. These two were so hot together, and their chemistry was amazing. I just wish that Baylor had seen how great they were together sooner and hadn't let her insecurities hold her back so much.

Overall, this was still a really great story and was my favorite of the series. Baylor and Fletcher were great together and I really liked seeing them get closer. I loved that Baylor was into roller derby and was such a strong female. She was a great role model for Vail, and I liked that she never talked down to her and was always there for whatever Vail needed. Seeing Baylor and Fletcher with Vail and Rook were some of my favorite parts of this book, and I loved them all together. It was great to see them having such a good time together, and I think that Vail and Rook added so much to this story. If you are looking for an all around great romance series, I think that this is one that you shouldn't miss. Steph Nuss draws you right in every time, and you can't help but love the characters from her stories. I already can't wait for the next book in this series, and I look forward to reading more from Steph Nuss in the future.

Fletcher and Bayler are two people determined not to allow their hearts to be broken. So they develop rules like no sex with same person twice and no sleep overs. It works pretty good until one night they meet each other in a bar. The experience was so amazing that months later they cannot stop thinking about it and wished they could reconnect. Fate lends a hand and brings them together again. So begins a fascinating journey down the path to love. But first they have to work through stupid rules, fear of heartbreak, denial of true feelings and blindness to reality. My favorite scenes were in connection with the roller derby. It was so well described, I could see the action and feel the excitement. Emotions were all over the place. Ms. Nuss tells a great story. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Five Stars.

~~~~~~~~~~Amanda's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
The third book in the series, is just as breathtaking and catching as the first two. The story of Bayler and Fletcher will grab your attention and won't let go. It will have you laughing right from the start. It is a fast paced and easy read. The details of each character is drawn out perfectly. It will definitely play out in your head like a great movie just like the first two books. I highly recommend reading the series in order because they circle around the first book and the second book. I cannot wait to read more by Steph Nuss.
~~~~~~~~~~Patricia's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~

The story of Baylor and Fletcher was such a great story if two people who had a set of rules they always followed when it come to their live lives. Will these two finally find each other again a after a night of passion they can't stop thinking about the other one but they were a mystery to one another by false names. When they do meet again will they be able to make all their fears and hopes for the future come true or will fear leave them miserable and alone? I just live this series I can't wait for more from this gang. The way it is written just make you want so much more

~~~~~~~~~~Sharlene's ★★★★✰ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Bayler and Fletcher are another couple in this series that are made for each other. However, they made me want to slap their heads together on numerous occasions. They are both stubborn and oblivious to how the other is feeling. They drove me nuts but they also made me fall in love with them right along with them. Both have their own careers and lives and don't want that to change. Both also have a lot of experience in the bedroom which plays out well in this relationship! Both have some serious phobias going on too. The whole gang from the previous books in the series returns in this one and actually play a bigger role in their relationship than in the previous relationships of the series. I loved the involvement of the Big Brothers, Big Sisters organization. It added just a little something more to this story.
Just like the other installments, this can be read as a stand alone and does have an HEA. But there is a surprise at the end of this story that makes you crave the next installment. Hey Steph Nuss - when can we expect the next one?
Steph Nuss has done it again. Not that I expected any less from her. Every book in this series has been a five star read for me. I truly love this series and all of it's characters. This is the third book in the Love in the City series. Technically it's a stand alone but I think they should be read in order. Otherwise you will not fully understand everything that is going on.
Pleasured by You is Feltcher and Bayler's story. I have been waiting for what seems like forever for this book. With each book I gain a new favorite from the series. When I started I didn't think anyone could top Carter. Then came Maverick and oh how I loved that man. Fletcher tops both of them. With each book I fall in love with the leading man. Steph knows how to write a fantastic book with great characters that you will just love. You can't help but love them. They are all witty, beautiful and normal. They all have flaws just like all of us. They are easily relatable.
Bayler Jennings is the younger sister to Carter and Harper. She is a pastry chef and loves what she does. It's her dream to work in bakery Batter Up. She researched bakeries for months knowing that she was moving to NYC and wanted to work at the best. I really liked Bayler. She had me laughing at time and feeling her pain at other times. Bayler has set rules and refuses to break them when it comes to men. She has seen way too many hearts get broken and she will be damned if hers is going to added to that list. I totally got why she had those rules. I mean seriously, who wants a broken heart? At the same time it drove me crazy because I was yelling at my kindle "Just open your heart to him! He is worth it!!"
Fletcher Haney is so worth it. That man is sexy and funny and has a heart of gold. He charmed his way into becoming my favorite book boyfriend in this series. Fletcher has rules too and thought he could stick by them. Then Bayler came back into his life and everything changed.
I loved the build up of their relationship. It was instant attraction and connection but it wasn't insta love. The push and pull between the two of them made for a great story.
I promise that you will love this series. It is well written, it flows well, and it's a story that everyone can connect with. I can't wait for the next book in the series. As always, Steph gives us just enough clues to try to figure out who it will be about but doesn't actually say who it is. We have to wait until she releases the synopsis to finally figure it out.
Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
Now I have to go back and read the other Love in the City books! So Bayler and Fletcher have a one-night stand on New Years Eve...a one-night stand that neither can forget about. Fast forward and it turns out they run in the same social circle. Will they be able to keep to their friends-with-benefits relationship or will it bloom into more?
I had so much fun with this one. Having not read the other books in the series, I was a little confused about who was paired up with who, but I loved all of the relationships this group had. You could see the fun they had together. And I loved Rook and Vail...they were an absolutely adorable addition to the story that just made me smile.
A really fun read with a lot of heart, a touch of heat, and some roller derby. What more could a girl ask for?
Pleasured By You was the third book in Love In The City Series. All the books in this series can be read as stand alone's. Wanted By You is the first book and it was Carter and Ellyson's story. Fantasized By You was the second book and it was Maverick and Harper's story. All these stories were excellent reads and I would rate this book a 4.5 stars! This book is Fletcher and Bayler's journey and it was quite the steamy emotional ride and I devoured it in one sitting. Steph Nuss just has a way with her writing that pulls you in from the beginning and keeps you e%nthralled all the way to the last page ... she also has a serious gift when it comes to writing steamy scenes and this book will steam up your pages from the first couple chapters and keep you begging for more.
5 months that's how long it had been since Bayler had a an amazing one night stand with a man she never gave her real name too, but she doesn't believe in the whole relationship thing and she is determined to keep it that way. She has her reasons although not full justified reasons she watched her friends get hurt to many times by men and she vowed she would never let that happen and the only way to do that is be a hit and quit kind of girl. Her sister is getting married and that is what she needs to focus on now... but when she finds herself coming face to face with the man she can't stop thinking about because coincidentally he is the best friend of the groom.
Fletcher doesn't do relationships either he is to busy with his life and most woman just want him for what he can do for them not his heart. He never thought he would meet a woman he wanted in his bed for more than one night but a New Years Eve one night stand will change his mind.. but he gets rejected and knows he will never see this woman again.. he didn't even get her name ..
When fate makes there worlds collide in more ways than one will they be able to stay away from eachother or will the sparks and the memories of the one hot night they have make them yearn for more?? Hearts will be locked tight but can they break down those barriers they both have put around them.. or is pleasure all they will allow?
Go pick up this series it was amazing and there are plenty more characters to swoon over in this book so I am hoping for sooo much more! Thanks Steph Nuss for another great book and I will be huge fan for a long time to come.
Bayler and Fletcher are a mess, in a good way. They are both very driven people and both like the fun, carefree, single lifestyle. That is, until New Years Eve where they are changed forever. Bayler doesn’t want to handle heartache or the motions of having a relationship. She has set rules for herself that she will not break, for anyone. Is it possible that one man has the capability of breaking her rules, breaking down the walls to her heart and loving her? She thinks not, especially not a play boy like Fletcher! He is a successful business owner, has a great body and personality, and rules the bedroom! Fletcher got Bayler to concede on her rule of no repeat nights of sex with the same person, but could he get her to concede to more, or give her heart away?
This story was incredible! I caught myself laughing out loud in multiple parts of the book and getting strange looks from others who had no idea the gem I was reading! Their story was fun, flirty, young, and full of a type of love that everyone wants and deserves! This book was a breath of fresh air after reading a few too many serious books. This book will leave you feeling refreshed, happy, and hopeful. Anything is possible in life and love and Bayler and Fletcher knocked that one out of the park I think.
I loved that there were really two different love stories going on in the book, Bayler and Fletcher as well as Rook and Vail! Not only was there two fun love stories going on, but I loved that Bayler and Fletcher were both members of Big Brothers / Big Sisters. What an incredible organization and it’s great that Steph included it into her story. I think both couples learned lessons from each other. In some scenes I got the feeling that the idea trying to be portrayed was that sometimes we as adults have to step back from our serious life and just let loose and have fun. No better way to do that then chaperone a teenagers dates and outings! What a great thing to feel as an adult living in a far too serious world! Way to go Steph!
There are so many things I loved about this book that I could write much, much more. However, I think you need to take my word that you need to dive into Bayler and Fletcher’s story. If you haven’t started the series at all, then start with Book One Fantasized By You and hit up Wanted By You next. You won’t regret it!
Firstly I want to thank the lovely author for kindly providing me with a copy to read and review.
I've followed this series from the beginning, and I am loving these individual story-lines, albeit the characters entwine within the series.
The Love in the City series can each be read as standalones. I do recommend reading each in order because you can easily get hooked onto them.
This one is about the younger Jennings sibling - Bayler (love that name by the way)
Bayler is a happy-go-lucky character, that when she sets her sights on something, she does everything in her power to get it.....though there are rules to be followed.
Rules that she follows religiously until the hot and swoon-worthy Fletcher boy-coshes them all....
"She wasn't a woman who sat back and waited for you to come to her. No, she was a woman who got what she wanted. She wasn't the prey; she was the predator."
Fletcher Haney - That man is sexy, funny and has a heart of gold. He too has rules and thought he could stick by them, until he meets the provocative Bayler Jennings.
Fletcher meets his match with Bayler.
She doesn't take any of his crap and can put him in his places when he needs it
I loved the build up of their relationship. It was instant attraction and connection but it wasn't insta love. The push and pull between the two of them made for a great story.
"Love demands vulnerability, but it survives on hope."
We get glimpses into their past, which really helped to get to know them better, and understand how it helped shaped the individuals they are today ...
This is written in dual POVs.....you all know what that means....YES!! I LOVE it when authors write like this!!!
I love that the author includes the whole group still, so you’re continually getting updates, but you’re also learning about the lives of new characters as well.
Steph has done a wonderful job with this novel and now I'm really looking forward to the next instalment in this series!
Bayler and Fletcher met new years eve and had a hot, fun night. They gave each other fake names, took advantage of the celebration and parted ways.
A few months later at Bayler's brother's wedding they reunite, and even though the chemistry and the attraction is there, they decide to be just friends.
Bayler moves to NYC and goes for a job interview at her dream job. There, she interviews with the sweet old lady she thinks is the owner, but right when her interview was almost done...Fletcher appears again and she discovers his tie to the bakery.
They both belong to Big Brothers Big Sisters and as they both are paired with a littles, their journey of getting to know each other becomes more interesting. I LOVED that Steph included this in the book, it was such a sweet thing to read about these two teenagers that cared so much for each other and for the people around them.
Even though their relationship progresses, none of their friends and family knows that they are seeing each other, they keep interacting like friends but the more intimate aspect to their relationship is kept hidden to the world. Bayler's reasoning is that she's seen too many people fall in love and suffer from it and she doesn't want to be a victim of love so in her eyes the more dettached she is the better will be when they go their separate ways.
I love that this was not a relationship that was rekindle after the new year encounter, yes the attraction between them is always there, but is the building of them being a couple that makes this story more special, makes it more believable and enjoyable. And it's always nice to visit with previous characters and what they've been up to.The story flows beautifully and it's the writing that makes you not want to put the book down. From delicious pastries, to teenagers in love, to roller derby, this a story that you will love to lose yourself into.
Each book in this series is a standalone but I recommend that you read the previous book so you can be more familiar with the cast of characters.
This is the 3rd book in the series and although each book can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the series in order.
Fletcher Haney owns several business all over New York, giving him instant access to beautiful available woman. He's the ultimate playboy. A passionate encounter on new years eve with an anonymous woman leaves him with the lingering problem of not being able to get her out of his head
Baylar Jennings is a pastry chef and can have any man she wants and likes to be in charge of her relationships. Her number one rule - not sleeping with the same man twice to avoid the heartbreak she's seen her sister and friends encounter.
What happens when Baylar and Fletcher aka Jane Doe and John Smith come face to face at her brother's wedding months after this passionate one night?
Will Baylar ignore the spark she knows exists with Fletcher or will she give him a chance? Will Baylar be the one to tame playboy Fletcher or is she just setting herself to get hurt?? Or will these two get their happily ever after?? Well you'll have to pick up the book to find out
This is the 3rd book in Steph Nuss's Love in the City Series and one I've been most excited about. I fell in love with Baylar Jennings in Steph's first book and I have been waiting patiently for her story, keeping my fingers crossed that she got her happily ever after. So needless to stay I was hooked from page one.
Baylar is funny, strong and has attitude. She won't allow any man to walk all over her and that is one of the many things I love about her character.
I understand Fletcher's reluctance to stick to one just one woman. In his experience woman only want him for what he can do for them, not for himself. He certainly has met his match in Baylar.
The story flows from start to finish, taking you on a ride filled of emotion and chemistry. The glimpses into their pasts allows you to understand them a whole lot better.
Looking forward to the next book from Steph Nuss already.
This is the third book in Steph Nuss' Love in the City Series - it stands well on it's own but now I will have to go back and read the first 2 just because I enjoyed this one so much. That being said read the series in order if you can. This one seemed so much fun and as 4 of the main characters have taken the plunge into HEA I felt I need to get to know them better.
Fletch is a good guy that doesn't do relationships, he is a business owner and is definetly enjoying his bachlorhood. When surfing his clubs on New Year's Eve - he spots a hot little number across the room and is instantly drawn to her. She doesn't do relationships either and leave Fletcher unable to forget his one night with "Jane Doe". Fast forward a few months and he is heading to Dallas for a friends wedding. He is warned by his travling buddies to stay away from the bridesmaids. Easier said then done.
Baylor Jennings is the sister of the bride and a pastry chef. She is the hot little number that Fletch hooked up with on New Year's Eve. Her number one rule is never bumping nasty's with the same guy twice, this is mostly because she has seen that love hurts and she refuses to fall for it. But baboom they run into each other at the wedding - one in which Baylor has been warned to stay away from the Groomsmen.
This is the story of Fletcher and Baylor, learning that life really isn't meant to be lived alone. They fight and fuss, love and lust - only they don't do love or do they?
Ms. Nuss' plot lines are wonderful - you will laugh, you will scream, you will want to shake Baylor until she realizes what she has, and that love is worth the hurt. The characters are strong and believable. It's Love in the City! If you are looking for a hot series to sink your teeth into this one is definetly worth the time.
Pleasured by You is one of my anticipated reads of 2015. Why? Because of Fletcher. FACT: I became interested with Fletcher since Wanted by You because of what he did for Elly during those hard times. —
Because if you can jump out of a plane, you can do anything. Like kick cancer’s ass.
And yes, Steph did not disappoint and delivered another great book.
In this book, we get to know more about Fletcher and Bayler. A one-night-stand, one-night-of-hey-we-will-never-see-other-again that turned into something when they finally learn how small their worlds are.
I love Fletcher and Bayler. Steph has managed to let us know Fletcher and Bayler as individuals — what makes them happy, sad and even afraid. We get to see who they truly are and how they compliment each other.
Another thing to love about this book? Well, if you are a fan of LITC Series, just like me, then don’t miss out on this book! From Elly and Carter’s wedding planning to Harper and Mav’s baby name. This book is not to be miss!
Oh, and Steph is also a big TEASE in this one! No, it doesn’t contain cliffhanger, but that ending will make you want the next book in the series — which I’m already anticipating. I may or may have sent Steph PM regarding that one. ha!
To Steph, another amazing addition to your amazing series! More more! Oh, and when April comes, I might badger you everyday just to write and finish Justin’s book. Get ready! Hey, at least you did get a warning right? haha. Thank you also for being understanding. :)
To Melanie, hey Sassy Mum! Thanks as well!
Awesome!! Just Awesome!!! I loved every minute of this book. I laughed, smiled, frowned, and shed a tear. I was totally consumed by this book. This is book three of a series. I know that you could read each book as a stand alone, but to really get the background on the secondary characters I feel as if you need to begin with book one. Fletcher and Bayler's story started out with hotness. They meet on New Year's Eve. They gave fake names and indulged in a night of passion. Both are wary of commitments. So, Bayler left. Fast forward five months and they meet again. This time they realize that they know the same circle of people. This circle includes Bayler's family and Fletcher's friends. I love the different themes that went along with the story. We nada theme of Big Brother/Big Sister charity. This was a big storyline in the book. I loved how they interacted with their littles. Another theme would be roller derby. Bayler can kick some butt. One of the funniest scenes to me was the sky diving scene. I laughed out loud at what happened in the plane, but the scene after that wasn't so funny. Bayler had some major sucking up to do, but in her defense she didn't know how Fletcher felt about flying. Steph Nuss pulls you into this group. You want to keep reading and suddenly one chapter turns into another and then another until you realize that you have read your entire day away. I didn't want the book to end, but I can feel a book four coming on. This book screams sexy as well. There are some scenes that will make you fan yourself. This is well worth a read. Dual point of view. No cliffhanger, but as I said you know there is more to come.
Pleasured by you is the 3rd book in the Love in the City series. If you have not read the first, two you should. However each book can be read as a stand alone. This was the story of Bayler and Fletcher. Bayler is a a pastry chef who doesn't believe in having relationships. She just uses men for sex and that's it. No attachments, no ties. Fletcher is a wealthy business owner, who basically lives by the same rules as Bayler.
They happen to meet on New Year's Eve and spend one amazing night together. Sticking to her rules Bayler leaves, never giving Fletcher her real name. He never can stop thinking of that amazing night and that mystery woman.
Fast forward to 5 months later and the group of friend are prearing for the wedding of Carter and Ellyson. When the wedding party meets he is surprised to discover that his mystrey woman is no other than Carter's sister, Bayler. She freaks out that he's there and he's excited to have finally found her. The attraction between them is still very strong. But there's those rules they live by. No matter how much they fight it, they still get pulled together. Finally they agree to be friend with benefits, but they keep it secret for every one else. The secret could only last for so long. They begin to have problems keeping it just in the friend zone. Can they keep from breaking their rules? Is there too much feelings there?
I really enjoyed this book, as well as the whole series. I'm looking forward to reading more of this group of friends. I would totally recommend this book. I give it 5 out of 5 stars!
