If you're tired of using your driver's license, Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport announced Friday that it's going to start using biometric scanning to get travelers through security.CLEAR allows travelers to verify their identity instantly to go through security with the tap of a finger or a blink of an eye, officials said.CLEAR technology is already in place at 27 major airports, including the airport in Kenner. Louis Armstrong officials said CLEAR lanes can be found in Concourse D, home to Delta Air Lines, Air Canada and United Airlines."CLEAR is excited to be launching MSY during New Orleans’ tricentennial, and proud to support the local economy by creating as many as 40 new jobs in the region,” said Gina Bruzzichesi, CLEAR’s senior vice president of operations. Travelers who use CLEAR can replace their ID with the eye or finger scanning system. Officials said the technology will soon also be able to allow members to check their bag, verify their boarding pass, enter Delta Sky Clubs and board their flights.CLEAR lanes will be available in the new centralized security checkpoint at the new terminal at Louis Armstrong when it opens in May, providing access to flights from all 15 airlines at the airport.Travelers can sign up for CLEAR membership for $15 a month.
