Green is the new Black.
The Associated Press reports Colorado's new marijuana retailers are joining in on the Black Friday shopping frenzy with "Green Friday" deals. The Grass Station in Denver is selling an ounce of weed for $50, nearly $200 less than the regular price.
The sale followed traditional retailers' "doorbuster" offerings by only giving the super-low discount to the first 16 customers. Still, there were 120 people lined up outside the pot shop on Thanksgiving night, according to the AP.
CBS reports other dispensaries have been targeting crowds by offering seasonal products this Christmas. The Dixie Elixir Marijuana Company, for example, is selling edible marijuana with a winter flavor.
"This is a THC infused Dixie one," Dixie's Tripp Keber told the news station. "This is a seasonal white chocolate peppermint square, if you will."
Other stores are mixing weed with pumpkin pie, honey oil, sweet potatoes and cookies.
"It just tastes too good, we had to do it," Better Baked owner Deloise Vaden told the AP of the cannabis-infused sweets.
One shop is even selling Christmas tree-shaped buds.
Maka Kala'i, who works at Organic Alternatives in Fort Collins, told USA Today he hopes his relaxing products help counter-balance the stress of Black Friday shopping at malls and big box stores.
Ryan Pratt, manager of Helping Hands Herbals in Boulder, told the newspaper that he's worked the day after Thanksgiving at other jobs before, and doesn't see much difference at his new job.
"It's regular old retail," he said. "It's just that this happened to all be illegal a year ago."
