Great Kills resident Charles O'Connor might just be in contention for Rookie of the Year honors.

The retired NYC Transit employee posted a perfect 14-0 record in winning the weekly Bag Wags football contest in his first attempt.

"I'm a rookie," said O'Connor. "It's the first time I've entered after looking at it for so long."

He won via the tiebreaker in a group of nine entrants with perfect marks.

O'Connor was understandably excited upon hearing the news, but it didn't take long for the Giants, Yankees and Rangers fan to start talking about his family, including his wife of 33 years, JoAnn. They have a son, Robert, who is a chemical engineer and a daughter, Denise, who works in the fashion district and is a newlywed.

O'Connor works part-time at Hanley Funeral Home on New Dorp Lane.

He wins a $50 gift certificate to the South Fin Grill on the South Beach boardwalk.

Last week there were 611 entrants with 57 topping Advance football forecaster Jim Waggoner's 12-2 record.
