Board of Construction Appeals

The purpose and duties of the Board shall be those prescribed for the Board of Construction Appeals in Section 112 of the International Residential Code (the Code). 

The Board of Construction Appeals meets on an as needed basis and is responsible for hearing appeals of decisions or determinations made by the Building Official relative to the application and interpretation of adopted codes.  The Board shall consist of five (5) members who are qualified by experience and training to pass upon matters pertaining to building construction. Each member will be appointed by the Board of Commissioners (BOC) for a three-year term. 

The function and duty of the Board of Construction Appeals is to determine the suitability of materials and methods of construction and provide reasonable interpretations of the Technical Codes.  Applicants for this boards must be residents of Nolensville or, in certain cases, must meet specific professional criteria set forth in Town ordinances.
