Youth Justice Board 2017 - 18 Application
The 2017 –  2018 Youth Justice Board will look at the relationship between youth homelessness and the criminal justice, foster care, and education systems in New York City.

Homelessness in New York City has recently grown to the highest levels since the 1930s. It is a serious issue that affects many young people in our city. Being homeless can interrupt a young person's education, put them at risk of violence and abuse, and increase their chances of getting arrested or deported. Members of the 2016 – 17 Youth Justice Board researched how these issues affect young people and came up with policy recommendations to help improve the lives of homeless youth. The 2017 – 18 Board will come up with exciting new ideas to turn these recommendations into reality.

Please complete the Youth Justice Board 2017 – 18 application here and submit it by June 23 (priority deadline) or July 28 (final deadline). The application includes FOUR short essay responses. Once you start this application, you WILL NOT be able to save it halfway through, so make sure that you can complete it in one sitting or draft responses in another document (Microsoft Word, for example) and input them once you're done.
