The Basics
With locations in Grand Rapids and Greenville, Michigan, North Kent Guidance Services is an outpatient-based behavioral health facility that provides treatment programs for addiction, mental illness and other behavioral health issues. All programs are individualized and flexible, with evening and weekend sessions available, as well as open to clients of all ages.
Treatment and Staff
After an initial intake and assessment, new clients at North Kent Guidance Services begin treatment comprised of individual and group therapy that uses evidence-based practices. These include CBT and DBT, and EMDR for trauma. Further support for clients with co-occurring disorders is offered through additional individual sessions and medication management. For younger clients, play therapy is also an option. While 12-step participation is not always required, clients are encouraged to attend off-site meetings.
Staff consists of psychologists, LPCs, CADCs, MFTs, LMSWs and additional Master’s-level clinicians.
Extras
Additional services include special groups for LGBTQ clients, as well as those with ADHD, eating disorders or who engage in self-harming behaviors. Support groups for families, blended families and couples are available as well. A wide range of standalone assessment and evaluation services, including psychological testing, nutritional assessments and driving evaluations, are also offered.

In all, North Kent Guidance Services is a well-rounded program with plenty of psychological support services and flexible scheduling. Clients of all ages are welcome to attend and support is available for any number of behavioral health issues in addition to addiction.
