While there was no movement at the top of the College Football Playoff rankings, there was plenty of response to issues raised by selection committee chairman Jeff Long.

Last week, it was "game control." This week, Long raised the issue of how wins against highly ranked teams earlier in the season, like Mississippi State's victories over Texas A&M and LSU in late September and early October, are viewed now that those opponents are no longer ranked.

A selection of the responses on Twitter as the rankings were announced and Long provided his commentary:

We are fourth in tonight's @CFBPlayoff rankings. Everything we want is still there for the taking. Everything. #HailState
