WMECo is Ready for Pre-Thanksgiving Storm
Company encourages customers to be prepared for severe weather

Springfield, Mass. (November 25, 2014) – As a winter storm makes its way up the East Coast, WMECo is prepared to safely and quickly respond to any power outages that might occur. While the storm’s forecast varies across WMECo’s service area, come wind, rain or snow, the company and its workers will be up to the task.

“We prepare year-round for storms like this and stand ready to address any damage to our system,” said Craig Hallstrom, President of WMECo and NSTAR Electric. “While we may not be able to control the weather in New England, we know that our ongoing system improvements enable us to operate the system more efficiently no matter what Mother Nature throws at us.”

The company always encourages customers to prepare for any severe weather by assembling or restocking a storm kit and making arrangements to look out for their families, friends and neighbors.

WMECo customers can report power outages by calling 1-877-OK-WMECo (1-877-659-6326) or by filling out the outage form on the company’s website. WMECo reminds all customers to stay clear of downed lines and report them immediately to the company and local emergency officials. While back-up emergency generators can be very useful during power outages, it’s crucial to personal safety and the safety of others – including WMECo line crews – that they be installed and operated properly.
