Live Music Now’s Songs & Scones concerts are a great opportunity for older people to come together and share an enjoyable afternoon in the company of Live Music Now musicians.
Expect songs from West End shows, well known folk tunes, popular songs and light classical music. Each informal concert will be followed by a cup of tea, scone and a chance to chat and make new friends.

Henry and Elliott are award-winning musicians playing new acoustic music rooted in the traditional music of the British Isles. Singer-songwriter Elliott Morris blends blues- and roots-infused guitar with vocals. Henry Webster is a classically-trained violinist turned folk fiddle-player.

Join award winning musicians Ainsley Hamill and Toby Shaer for a mixture of Scottish and self-penned songs and story-telling to get you in the festive spirit in the lead up to Christmas.

Ensemble Fioritura is a classically trained flute-and-piano duo that seeks to bring people with different stories together through the evocative power of music. They will perform works about love and nature in this concert – a refreshing celebration of spring.

Borges Machado is André Borges (saxophone) and Fernando Machado (guitar), both Brazilian musicians based in Brighton. The duo’s repertoire is based in rhythmic and harmonic influences from their homeland. Samba, Baião, Salsa and Ciranda are some of the vibrant Latin American rhythms they use to invite the audience into a musical trip to Brazilian culture during their concerts.

Jali Bakary Konteh follows in the footsteps of his kora-playing father and grandfather. He brings his own personal touch and innovations to traditional songs with unique melodic and rhythmic arrangements.
