Ritrosky earns the first NEWBA/Prestosports Player of the Week for 2014-15.  In four games, Ritrosky is averagig 14.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists. She is 15-for-16 from the foul line and shooting 58.3 percent from the floor. On the opening weekend, Ritrosky helped Eastern to its 18th Eastern Tip-Off Tournament title by connecting on seven of 12 field goals and all five free throw attempts and averaging 13.0 rebounds. In the title game against Framingham State, Ritrosksy pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds in just 18 minutes. In a 60-27 home victory over Trinity College Nov. 20, Ritrosky sank ten of 14 field goals and all four free throws in scoring 24 points.

Dorothy O'Neill
Western New England University
Freshman • Guard • Staten Island, N.Y.

O'Neill began her career by scoring 15 points and had five rebounds in her collegiate debut, and followed that up with 17 points, seven rebounds and two steals in a 73-61 win vs. Johnson State to be named to the USJ All-Tournament Team where the Golden Bears won the third-place game. For the opening week of the season, she averaged 13.8 points, shooting 38% from the floor and 87% from the line.

  • Sadie DiPierro, University of New England (Jr., G, South Portland, Maine) - DiPierro scored a team high 15 points in a win over Wellesley. Exceeded her previous career-high (16) by six in an overtime win at in-state rival Southern Maine. All 22 points were scored in regulation; she went 2-2 from inside the arc and 6-9 from deep. Also had 4 rebounds and 3 steals. For the period, the guard connected on 59 percent (16-27) from the field and 56 percent (10-18) from long range.
  • Angelica Ariola, Roger Williams University (Jr., G, Prospect, Conn.) - Ariola led the Hawks to a 2-2 start by scoring at least 20 points in three of the four games.  She started the year by scoring 22 points on 7-for-15 shooting with three three pointers in a one point win over Bowdoin, then added 22 more in a two point loss to Brandeis, and poured in 20 more against Connecticut College.  In the opening week of the season, she shot 45% from three point range and 76% from from the free throw line.
  • Megan Pelletier, University of Southern Maine (Jr., F, Winslow, Maine) - Pelletier had a strong start in the Huskies' first three games helping USM to a 2-1 start. Pelletier is averaging 17.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 3.0 blocked shots and 1.0 steals per game while shooting a solid 56.8 percent (21-for-37) from the field.  Pelletier had 10 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and three blocked shots in an 81-42 win over UMF. In a 67-49 win over Bridgewater State, Pelletier had a game-high 21 points, nine rebounds, four assists, three blocks and a steal on 10-for-18 shooting. In a 77-73 OT loss to No. 16/20 UNE, Pelletier equaled her USM career-high with 22 points. Pelletier added eight boards and three blocks, two steals and an assist while shooting 9-for-12. 
  • Caitlyn Nolan, Colby College (So., G, Barrington, R.I.) - Nolan, who scored just 47 points in 24 games last year, has 70 points and is averaging 17.5 points per game after four contests. She is shooting 50 percent (13-for-26) from 3-point range and has just three total turnovers while playing a team-best 33.0 minutes per game. Nolan scored 48 percent of her team's points with a collegiate-high 26 in a 54-53 win over Wellesley to help the Mules go 2-0 and win the Colby Classic (games predetermined, no all-tournament). Nolan shot 5-for-11 from 3-point range and was the lone Mule in double figures scoring.
  • Giovanna Pickering, Babson College (So., G, Hull, Mass.) - Pickering opened with 10 points, seven assists and five boards in a season-opening 66-55 win over Vassar on November 15. She followed it up with seven points, 10 rebounds, six assists and three steals in just 23 minutes as the Green and White defeated Rhode Island College, 95-56, on November 16. After scoring seven points and dishing out five assists in a 77-51 triumph over Misericordia on Friday, she produced her first double-double and matched her career highs with 24 points and 10 rebounds to go along with four steals in a 61-49 loss to 17th-ranked Williams on Saturday.
