When Dreams Get Stuck in Satan’s Heaven
So I had this dream last night...
I don't remember much about it, but I do remember Will Smith being there and we were talking. He said something that reverberated long after I woke up:
"Don't tell your dreams to everyone. If you do, they'll never make it to the Third Heaven. They'll be stuck in the Second Heaven."
Will Smith: Feel free to admire ladies, but this is a lust-free zone. *smile*
Making Sense of It All
Now I don't know what the significance of the gorgeous Mr. Smith was and yes, it is ironic that I'm sharing a dream about someone telling me not to share my dreams, lol. But the dreams he spoke of were the visions and ideas God gives us. The Joseph dreams. And when you tell those God-given dreams to the wrong people, they may never come into completion.
The Third Heaven
The Third Heaven is where God dwells. I wondered at first what the reference to it meant, but then it came to me immediately: "Thy will be done, as it is in Heaven..." (Matthew 6:10). Heaven is the place and symbol of completion; the finished work; it's already done. HOWEVER, if we tell our dreams to the wrong people, this gives these people, and really, the spirits behind these people, the power to fight you, to fight your dreams, to try and shut you down if they're not of one mind and one spirit with you.
The Second Heaven
The Second Heaven is where Satan rules. He is the Prince of the Power of the Air (Ephesians 2:2) and his cohorts also rule there.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)
This is the source of our warfare. Warfare for our prayers. Warfare for our prophetic words. Warfare for our dreams and our visions. The danger of telling, as Prophet Cathy Lechner would say, telling your “half-brothers” your dreams is that they (the spirits behind them) will immediately launch against you to see that they, in fact, do not come to fruition.
Biblical Examples
The Prophet Daniel experienced this immensely.
Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia. Now I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision refers to many days yet to come.” (Daniel 10:12-14)
Daniel had hunkered down to pray for an answer. And the Angel of the Lord told him that “from the first day that you set your heart to understand...your words were heard...” That’s the completion of God’s Heaven. However, since we, like Daniel, do not dwell in the Third Heaven, there is still a Second Heaven that our answers to prayer and fulfillment of things to come must pass through. And this means war.
Perhaps Daniel’s friends tried to encourage him to stop praying so hard, so intently, and just “trust God.” Perhaps Daniel’s enemies (and frienemies) taunted him or said things like “why don’t you just give up?” Most opposition we have will come from the Second Heaven, most discouragement, depression, oppression, and despair--you name it, it comes from Satan’s Heaven.
But Daniel persevered and it was only because of his perseverance that his answer came. He prayed according to the Word and will of God and godly angelic activity, even from the Archangel Michael himself, was released from God’s Throne Room to assist him and bring him the fulfillment of his prayers.
Another example is from Jesus’s earthly life. He found Himself in what could have been a similar situation. He had just told His disciples “that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day” (Matthew 16:21). But then, he encountered opposition, seemingly, from one of His own.
Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!”
But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.” (Matthew 16:22-23)
Jesus, thankfully, was able to recognize--even in His fleshly form--that this was not the voice of His dear friend, Peter, but rather, the voice of the Accuser of the Brethren: Satan.
We know in Luke 4 that Jesus was tempted of Satan in the wilderness after just being ordained in his ministry, but the Bible does not tell us EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. Satan and His cohorts attempted to deter and discourage Jesus from the fulfillment of His calling. Thankfully, Jesus won. Yet how many of us do not?
Heaven Ain’t Broken
It’s not Jesus’ fault. God’s Heaven ain’t broken. The fulfilment of everything God ever gave us is there already. But the difference between an earthly manifestation of that fulfillment is determined by our perseverance in the face of demonic and even natural opposition.
We may not always be able to keep our mouth shut. In prayer we certainly can’t (usually) pray with our mouths shut. And even though praying in tongues (in the Spirit) is like going under cover, we are commanded to pray with our understanding as well (I Corinthians 14:15). And sometimes, like with Jesus, we are supposed to tell those around us what God has shown us. But regardless of whether or not you “spill the beans” intentionally or unintentionally, wisely or unwisely, be ready for opposition. But be encouraged:
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (James 5:16)
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. (I John 5:4)
