PARADE: WRAL Christmas Parade
Hillsborough Street and Fayetteville Street
Saturday, November 22
Event time: 9:30am – 2:00pm
Associated road closures: Parade route is as follows: Hillsborough Street from St. Mary’s Street to Salisbury, Salisbury Street to Morgan Street, Morgan Street to Fayetteville Street, and Fayetteville to Lenoir Street. The parade route and all cross-roads for at least one block in each direction will be closed starting at approximately 8:00am until approximately 2:00pm. Staging areas by the intersection of Hillsborough Street and St. Mary’s Street will be closed starting at 6:00am. Due to heavy traffic, other detours in the vicinity may be put into place at the discretion of the Christmas Parade incident commander.  View parade map.

ROAD RACE: Skinny Turkey Half and Just Think First 5K
Wakefield area
Thursday, November 27
Event time: 7:00am – 10:30am
Associated road closures: Roads will be closed between 7:00am and 10:30am on 11-27-14 to facilitate the following route: Start at Wakefield High School; Straight across Wakefield Pines Drive onto Schoolhouse Rd; Right turn on Narrowwood Drive; Left turn on Kelway Dr; Right turn on Plantation Drive; At Roundabout Right turn onto Forest Pines Drive; Left turn on Common Oaks Drive; Left turn on Green Elm Lane; Right turn on Forest Pines Drive; At Roundabout go to the 3rd right back onto Plantation Drive; Continue on Plantation Drive and cross Old Falls of the Neuse Road; Pickup Wakefalls Drive once you cross Old Falls; Continue straight through stop sign at Mountain High Road; Right turn on Talbot Ridge Street; Right turn on OLD NC 98 Hwy; Just pass Keith Store U turn at House #2521; Continue back on OLD NC 98 Hwy; Turn left on Talbot Ridge Street; Turn left on Wakefalls Drive; Cross Old Falls onto Plantation Drive; Right turn on Kelway Drive; Right turn on Narrowwood Drive; Left turn on Schoolhouse Rd; Crossover Wakefield Pines Drive to Finish Line. Thursday, November 27
Event time: 8:00am – 10:00am
Associated road closures: Ridge Rd. between Wade and Blenheim Dr., as well as small portions of Bienheim Dr. (between Ridge and Childens), Vick Ave., Ranlo Dr., Lubbock Dr., and Glen Eden (between Ridge and Lubbock) from 8:00am until 10:00am.
