The Murray State Racers put five players in double-figure scoring Thursday in an 89-56 win over the Brescia Bearcats at the CFSB Center in Murray, Ky.

The Racers got off to a 24-2 start and enjoyed a 44-24 lead at the break. MSU kept the pressure on the Bearcats (2-3) in the second half as they built a largest lead of 38 points at 83-45 with 5:54 remaining.

The win for MSU (2-1) was their first at home this season and provided a tune up for their next challenge, a Monday game in Cincinnati against the Xavier Musketeers.

Jarvis Williams was 9-of-11 from the field for 21 points, while Cameron Payne and Jonathan Fairell each scored 15 points. Fairell added 12 rebounds and Payne posted a career-high six steals. Justin Seymour and T.J. Sapp each scored 10 points and combined to go 7-of-13 from the field.

The Racers ended the game shooting 50 percent from the field on 31-of-61 shots, while Brescia was 21-of-52 for 40 percent. MSU won the rebound total 40-31.

Game Notes
In his last two games, Jarvis Williams has scored 49 points and grabbed 17 rebounds for the Racers. His field goal percentage in that two-game span is a ridiculous 70 percent on 21-of-30 shots.

Cameron Payne notched a career-high six steals against Brescia. His previous best was five which he had Tuesday at Middle Tennessee and last season against Towson.

The game tonight marked the third straight season that Coach Josh Gibson has brought his Brescia team to his alma mater to play the Racers. Gibson, a native of Murray, Ky., twice served on staff with the Racer, first for Billy Kennedy (2007-08) and Steve Prohm (2011-12).

In their 17th season in the CFSB Center, the Racers are closing on their 200th win. MSU is now 197-34 on their home court and 79-12 against non-conference opponents. In the Steve Prohm era, the Racers are 41-7 in the friendly confines of The Bank.

MSU is back at home to host Bethel (Dec. 3) and welcomes Western Kentucky to the CFSB Center (Dec. 6). Between now and then, the Racers hit the road for a Monday game at Xavier in Cincinnati. The game will be televised by Fox Sports 1.

Racer fans are invited to the Challenge In Music City in Nashville, Tenn., at Municipal Auditorium. The three-day event (Nov. 28-30), includes the Racers, Drake, Portland and Valparaiso. Each team gets three games in three days. Call the MSU ticket office at (270) 809-3000 or visit GoRacers.com for ticket information.
