Long shot. Senator. Television personality. Within a few percentage points of becoming a senator again. Now, television personality again.

Scott Brown, the former US senator from Massachusetts who made a run for the Senate from New Hampshire this year, is rejoining FOX News.

A network official said Thursday that Brown will return as a contributor. Brown’s first appearance, scheduled for next Tuesday, will be on “Outnumbered,” a talk show that regularly features four female panelists and a male guest, the official said.

In this year’s Senate election, Brown lost to New Hampshire Democrat Jeanne Shaheen by nearly 16,000 votes, or about 4 percentage points. In 2012, he lost his Senate seat in Massachusetts to Democrat Elizabeth Warren, after winning it in 2010 against Attorney General Martha Coakley.
