Man charged with second-degree murder after teen killed on Fishing Lake Metis Settlement

A 19-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder after RCMP were called to a fatal shooting on the Fishing Lake Métis Settlement.
Elk Point RCMP were told a man had been fatally shot after a dispute at 5:15 a.m. Monday.
Officers arrived and found the body of Merle Gabriel Eli Lajimodiere, 16, of the Fishing Lake Métis Settlement.
Ashton Patrick Callioux, also of the Fishing Lake Métis Settlement, has been charged with second-degree murder.
Callioux is scheduled to appear Thursday in provincial court in St. Paul.
The Fishing Lake Métis Settlement is about 278 km east of Edmonton.
