One of Britain's leading nutrition scientists warned doctors at a conference this week that a breakfast of coffee and a muffin, croissant or bun can contain up to 800 calories – or nearly half a woman's recommended daily calorie intake. In some cases, more than 400 of those calories are in the coffee.
