Warrior Soccer Remains Fourth In Central Region Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS – The Winona State soccer team remained in the fourth spot in the second NCAA Central Region Rankings, the organization announced today.

The top six spots were unchanged from last week, as Minnesota State, Central Missouri and Augustana remained in spots one through three, while Southwest Baptist and Central Oklahoma remained in the fifth and sixth slots, respectively.

The top six teams in the region will advance to the NCAA region tournament on Nov. 14 & 16 and 21 & 23. Automatic bids are granted to the winners of the MIAA and NSIC postseason tournaments, with the remaining four spots awarded on an at-large basis. The 2014 NCAA DII Soccer Semifinals and Championship will be held at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium in Louisville, Ky. on Dec. 4 & 6 in conjunction with the NCAA DII Fall Sports Festival.

Winona State (13-2-1) is set to play its final two matches of the regular season this weekend. The Warriors play host to Concordia-St. Paul Friday at 7 p.m. before traveling to Mankato Sunday for a 1 p.m. matchup against No. 1 Minnesota State.
