2 suspects sought in gas thefts at GTA stations

Police are trying to track down two men in a series of gas thefts across York Region and throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

Investigators have released security camera images of the two men filling up at gas stations and then taking off.

They allege the suspects have been attaching stolen license plates — ITAL6 and BPAP791 — to various vehicles prior to stealing fuel.

Police said they began investigating in 2013 after receiving several reports of fuel thefts from gas stations.

The first suspect is described as 30 to 40 years old and with black hair, while the second one is 30 to 40 years old, around six-feet tall and medium build, a beard, and brown hair worn in a ponytail.
