Engstler finalise six-car line-up for the 2017 TCR Germany series

Engstler Motorsport have announced the names of an additional three drivers today, which complete a six-car line-up for the team in the sophomore season of the TCR Germany series, which is set to boast a capacity grid for 2017.

The German team will run six Volkswagen Golf GTI TCRs in TCR Germany, the series which the successful touring car team also promote. Engstler’s entry also matches the number of entries from chief rival Target Competition, who are also fielding six cars; four Audi RS 3 LMSs and two Honda Civic TCRs.

Engstler have announced their new signings as 31-year-old Stefan Goede, who is currently driving for the team in the TCR Middle East series, as well as 21-year-old Swiss driver Florian Thoma and American 22-year-old Jason Wolfe.

The team had already confirmed 2011 WTCC independents’ champion Kristian Poulsen and his brother Roland, alongside rising star Luca Engstler for the season.

“We really have a great line-up for the ADAC TCR Germany,” said team manager Kurt Treml.

“Our young drivers can certainly benefit from their team colleague Kristian Poulsen. He is already an old hare in touring car racing and has already gained international success in our team. We are delighted about this great team and the challenge in ADAC TCR Germany.”
