Update: The RCMP says it's recovered the regnade launcher and other items that went missing. The incident is now under review.

The Mounties are on the hunt for a scary looking weapon.

According to Global B.C. News, a 40-millimetre Abrams Multi-Shot Less-Lethal Tactical Launcher and a case with ammunition was lost before 7:30 a.m. on Sunday (July 23).

It's believed to have fallen off a police vehicle near the Golden Ears Bridge.

The MGL-LTL website states that this weapon can fire "less lethal grenades" for use in controlling riots.

"All six 40mm grenades can be fired in less than 3 seconds, effectively covering a very large area without reloading the weapon," the company says.
