Stacey's Beauty Dos and Don'ts

DON'T apply makeup with your fingers! The oils from your fingers end up going into the product which also causes bacteria making your makeup spoil quicker. It's best to use makeup brushes. Stacey's Pick: Beauty So Clean.(www.beautysoclean.com) This will remove the bacteria and oils from you product.

DON'T apply mascara directly from the tube! It leads to clumpy, goopy lashes. Instead use a tissue such as a kleenex to wipe off an excess product. This will give you clump-free lashes.

DON'T curl your lashes after you apply mascara and falsies! It creates a dent in your lashes that looks completely unnatural. Curl your own lashes before applying the false lashes. Most false lashes already come curled, anyway. Pictured above is a curler by Lancome www.lancome.ca

DON'T be shy to use bronzer! As we age we loose some of our radiance. Bronzer is excellent to bring back that glow. It's also good to add a pop of colour. By using a powder bronzer, swipe the bronzer on your forhead, cheeks, chin a small amount on your nose.

DON'T go to bed with your makeup on! Leaving makeup on will clog your pores and dry out your skin, causing you to age and to look older. If removing your makeup is too much of a chore, use a face wipe to remove all your makeup either right before you go to bed or when you arrive home. Stacey's Pick: Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelletes (www.yestocarrots.com) or No.7 Quick Thinking 4 in 1 Wipes (www.boots.com).

DON'T apply your makeup in an upward motion. This will only clog your pores, which will cause your skin to dry out and age. It's best to apply your makeup in a downward motion. This will prevent any makeup from getting into your pores. Remove your makeup in a downward motion using a makeup remover or a cleanser. Wash the face in an upward motion to clean it.

DON'T leave your makeup in the washroom. The steam from a hot shower will seep through into your products causing bacteria to form therefore leaving your makeup to spoil quicker. It's best to leave your makeup in room temperature. Perhaps your bedroom.
