Join us for what promises to be a thought-provoking afternoon with Abdel Bari Atwan, one of the world’s leading experts on Middle Eastern current affairs. A first class journalist with a ‘hands-on’ approach, Founder and Editor-in-chief of Rai al-Youm (Today’s Opinion) independent electronic newspaper, he is regularly commissioned to participate in discussion programmes as well to contribute authoritative articles to leading newspapers and magazines. He was chosen as one of the fifty most influential Arab personalities in the world by British publication The Middle East.
Born in a Gazan refugee camp, Atwan graduated from Cairo University in Egypt and worked his way up through several Arabic papers before establishing his own in London. Atwan interviewed Osama bin Laden in 1996 and is the author of three works of non-fiction including After Bin Laden, an analysis of Al Qaeda.
