The University of Arizona is one of 11 schools chosen to take part in a program to offer free textbooks to students.
Under the OpenStax initiative, students can access free, peer-reviewed textbooks anywhere in the world. They replace textbooks that can cost hundreds of dollars.
"As a librarian, I can't do a whole lot about the tuition and fees, but I can do something about the cost of course materials," said Cheryl Cuillier, an associate librarian, and the open education resource coordinator at the University of Arizona Libraries.
