Two hijackings in two days in Woodlands

"The man told me to run before he shoots."

A man was hijacked at the corner of Halifax and Leicester roads in Woodlands on Thursday, 16 October at about 1.30pm.

Denzil, who did not want his surname revealed, was at a yield sign when a black VW Golf stopped in front of his BMW Z4.
Two hijackers got out. “The one hijacker came to my door and held a gun to my head and the other man was on the other side of my car,” said Denzil. The hijacker told Denzil to put his handbrake up and then pulled him out of the BMW. “The man told me to run before he shoots,” said Denzil. The hijackers fled with Denzil’s car. He ran up Halifax Road and tried to get passing motorists to stop. Denzil jogged to Montclair SAP where he reported the hijacking. “All I could think about while I was being hijacked were my two boys,” said Denzil.

In a separate incident, a woman was hijacked in Norwich Crescent on Wednesday, 15 October at about 6.15pm.
Two hijackers carrying umbrellas approached the woman while she was in her driveway.
One of the hijackers held her at gunpoint and told her to get out. The hijackers pulled the woman out of the car and fled the scene with the woman’s Fiat Punto, which contained the woman’s handbag and two cellphones.
