Undefeated Mississippi State, ranked No. 1 in the AP and coaches' polls and the College Football Playoff rankings, retained its No. 1 spot in the AL.com SEC Power Poll this week, but did not get every first-place vote after being a unanimous pick for the last several weeks.
Auburn, which knocked off Ole Miss 35-31 on Saturday, picked up one first-place vote in the poll despite having lost this year to Mississippi State. The Bulldogs, which struggled to beat Arkansas 17-10 this week, retained the other nine first-place votes in the poll, a measure of current strength.
The big movers this week were Florida, which jumped from 12 to 8 with its 38-20 upset of Georgia, and South Carolina, which fell from 7 to 12 with a 45-42 overtime loss to Tennessee.
The full power poll is below, with point totals and first-place votes in parentheses. Fourteen points were awarded for first-place votes, 13 for second, 12 for third, and so on. The voters are: Michael Casagrande, Drew Champlin, Joel A. Erickson, Andrew Gribble, Mike Herndon, Roy S. Johnson, Brandon Marcello, Kevin Scarbinsky, Wesley Sinor and Creg Stephenson.
