Real estate seminar

Buyers and Sellers Mistakes to Avoid will be presented by Jim York, a local Realtor. Guest’s speakers will include a real estate attorney, mortgage banker and insurance broker. Real estate classes

James D. York will instruct two real estate classes in conjunction with the Collier County Public Schools and the District School Board of Collier County's Adult and Community Education Department.

Real Estate Course for Buyers: Naples trends and recent market statistics; the best way to buy/sell real estate in today's market; what is the true value of a home; how appraisals affect your sale. Learn how to buy short sales, save on homeowners insurance, foreclosures and bank-owned properties, content of all real estate contracts and how they can affect your purchase or sale. Also included is a field trip to the county clerk's office for a foreclosure sale. Class meets for four weeks on Wednesday starting Feb. 22 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cost: $69.

Real Estate for Sellers: Course is designed for prospective sellers to learn how to get the highest price for their property, learn about different social media marketing outlets when selling your home, sales trends in Collier County; how to save money on closing fees and what questions to ask a Realtor when listing your home. Class meets for two weeks on Tuesday starting Feb. 21 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cost: $39.

GATES Construction completes renovations

GATES Construction has completed major additions and renovations at Highland Woods Golf and Country Club at 9100 Highland Woods Blvd., Bonita Springs. The project involved the addition of a two-story cart barn and fitness center, recreation rest shelter, enclosed dining terrace and clubhouse renovations. The 15,105-square-foot cart Barn consists of an office and employee lounge, golf cart wash, golf club repair room, a 608-golf bag storage area, and can hold up to 102 golf carts. The fitness center is on the second floor of the cart barn. The recreation rest shelter was added to the west end of the country club near the bocce ball courts. Players have access to vending snacks, restrooms and a covered outdoor seating area. The clubhouse received a complete kitchen renovation which involved a new kitchen structure with all new HVAC systems, food service equipment, flooring, plumbing, electrical wiring, and ceiling tile. The existing layout was also expanded to create a more spacious and efficient work environment for staff. An enclosed dining terrace was added on for additional dining space. Design services were provided by Humphrey-Rosal Architects.

Property management firm increases portfolio

KW Property Management & Consulting has added four Naples communities to its portfolio of residential developments in Southwest Florida. Verona Walk, Enclave at Naples, Azure at Hacienda Lakes and Crystal Lake RV Resort selected KW Property Management to manage their communities totaling 3,210 homes. The property management firm now manages residential communities totaling nearly 15,000 homes throughout Southwest Florida. KW Property Management oversees a portfolio of more than 80,000 homes with over 1,000 employees. Headquartered in Doral, the company has offices in Bonita Springs, Jacksonville, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Tampa. In addition, KW Property Management has offices in the Bahamas, North Carolina and New York.

R.D. Johnson Construction completes renovations

R.D. Johnson Construction Inc. completed the second-floor renovations at The Woodruff Institute for Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery, 23471 Walden Center Drive, Unit 200,  Bonita Springs. The project was an interior renovation of 2,134 square feet of existing medical office space and 1,600 square feet of white shell space. The existing medical office space remained open and in operation throughout the length of the renovations. The project came in under budget by R.D. Johnson Construction, led by Matt Johnson as the project manager and Steve Hall as superintendent. The project designer was Kelly Scott of Wegman Design Group.

Wood Properties has been awarded the Website Quality Certification (WQC) from Leading Real Estate Companies of the World, a global community of more than 550 high quality independent real estate firms in over 60 countries. The certification was presented in recognition of excellence in website design, content and functionality. John R.
