Obama: It's the Map's Fault

Obama: It's the Map's Fault

On Election Day Tuesday, President Barack Obama sought to blunt criticism that his unpopular presidency and unpopular policies are to blame for looming Democratic midterm election losses.

“This is probably the worst possible group of states for Democrats since Dwight Eisenhower,” Obama said on WNPR radio Connecticut.

Obama added, “There are a lot of states that are being contested where they just tend to tilt Republican.”

However, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, even 47% of Democrats say Obama’s leadership direction must change. Nationally, 67% of Americans believe Obama must substantially change the way he manages America’s affairs.

Privately, Democrats have been pointing fingers and assigning internal blame for weeks about what analysts believe will prove sizable losses for Obama’s Democratic party on Tuesday.

According to Gallup, just 42% of Americans now support Obama.
