"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it," as the old saying goes. That certainly seems to hold true for an Alva man whom Canadian County deputies arrested twice for the same crime in less than a month.

Reports say Brandon Harmon, 32, posted an ad on Craigslist offering to sell methamphetamine. Undercover deputies, pretending to be a woman interested in buying meth, arranged a meeting with Harmon at a Canadian County truck stop. When Harmon arrived at the predetermined meeting spot, rather than meeting a woman to whom he believed he would sell his meth, the suspect encountered Canadian County Sheriff's Deputies and the OSBI. Investigators say they uncovered three grams of meth and a stolen handgun on Harmon's person.

The man was booked into the Canadian County Jail on complaints of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of a stolen firearm, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He was released on bond posted on August 18.

Just 11 days later, 17 days after his initial arrest, Harmon was allegedly back in business. This time, Harmon reportedly made contact with another undercover Canadian County deputy posing as a woman and offered "her" cocaine in exchange for sex with him and another man. The deputy and Harmon arranged a meeting, and when Harmon and his companion, Dywon Vaughn, 36, of Enid, arrived at the location, deputies arrested both men. Investigators say they found methamphetamine, cocaine, Xanax and PCP during the arrest.

Both men were booked into the Canadian County Jail on complaints of intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and solicitation of prostitution.

Harmon posted bond and was released from jail (again) on September 6. As of this writing, Vaughn remains in custody, held on $18,000 bond.
