My experience at Sparadise was not pleasant at all. I came here with a friend to get a pedicure and to catch up on our lives. From beginning to the end I was annoyed by the employees here. The guy was aggressive, he seemed out of place, and in a hurry. When the massage chair that my friend was in he tried to move her to another chair at the other end. I informed him that we were talking and was willing to wait for the lady who was sitting on the other side of me to move. I am not sure if he understood me because he continued to suggest for my friend to move down to the other end. Finally, this issue was resolved! Initially, my water was cold and than he made it extremely hot! lol a lady came to start on my pedicure while, he began to start on a lady who walked in with her daughter after us, (with no appointment) while, my friend just sat and waited.
Bottom line, my polish looks horrible. How do you work at a nail shop but you don't know how to polish nails??? I had polish all over my toes. I had to ask the lady for a cotton ball and some finger nail polish remover to get the polish off myself.
I would never come back to this nail shop or recommend that anyone else do. I have lived in Alameda for the last 13 years and never even knew that they existed. Wonders!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Nina X.San Ramon, CA5910533Nov 8, 2017Updated review
I'm so disappointed to write this review. The previous two times I went there were great, really high quality work.
I went in for a regular manicure and was told the wait would be 15 mins. After 25 mins I seated. The lady who worked on my nails was rushing through mine so she could get back to her acrylics set client.
She hurriedly scraped my cuticle with the metal tool and didn't even clean under my nails. She was so rough with my nails that I was worried later on she would cut me with clippers.
As she was cutting the cuticle part, she ended up cut my pinky cuticle and it started bleeding. She didn't apologize and said, "your skin is so tender". It hurt pretty bad and then she almost cut another one even though I told her not to. At that point I should have walked out. But sunk-cost fallacy kicked in so I stayed until it was finished.
My nails look raggedly and now I have to bandage my little finger.
The man who works there gave me a great arm massage but the entire time I felt the stinging of my cut skin.
Hard lesson learned: if something doesn't feel like, be brave enough to speak up.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Nov 5, 2017Previous reviewI'm so disappointed to write this review. The previous two times I went there were great, really high quality work.

No stars. Horrible customer service and horrible nails. Walked in to an empty shop asked for a fill at 5pm (they close at 7:30) and the two ladies one who was on her phone the other eating said come back tomorrow, then someone says something in the back and they say ok, they will do it. The lady lays the thickest acrylic I have ever seen and when I say I want them thinner she barely files anything down. As I sit there getting my nails done (worse then when I came in) I witness 5 people walk in with no appointment get serviced quickly with no problems. After 5 attempts to do a simple French manicure I left with thick ass lumpy nails... never again. I've been getting my nails done for over 20 yrs and this is the worse ever.

The 2 stars are because they were able to take me in for a 6p walk-in appointment on a Sunday when they close at 7 and I was in a time crunch so was desperate.
Unfortunately that is all the stars I can give because my gel manicure was nothing to brag about. The paint was not evenly painted so there were ridges on some and they began chipping by Tuesday! Just 2 days later! I had to head back to my usual salon just yesterday because my week old gel mani was in such bad shape.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nora N.Oakland, CA6728464Jun 5, 2018
So... during a manicure or pedicure.. The first thing you are suppose to do is removal the polish and see what you are working with.
The first thing that happened was a man soaked my feet and did a callus removal with the block and rinsed to put a scrub on me. Then the massage until the woman came over for my manicure.
Neither of them removed my polish. While forcing conversation with the woman who was much more interested in speaking Vietnamese to everyone in the salon... I discovered that the man doesn't actually have a nail license. So he's doing a callus removal? With a block he DROPPED ON THE FLOOR (violation to still use after it hits the floor) With no license? The state board has very strict regulations and this is not okay. Nor later when he used a metal pusher on my nails.
The woman while doing the massage didn't look at me except maybe twice. She was busy talking and not paying attention. I said numerous times that I feel left out and want to know what they are saying. In a cute "me too!" kind of way but she didn't get it. Too busy making money to see if your customer is even relaxed or strained.
I have no idea if the tools were cleaned. Most places bag them after autoclave or make some effort to make them look unused. I'm 70% sure they took the tray of tools they used on me to another customer but I could be wrong. She may have set it at my station in preparation for her next service... but I doubt it.
I know for sure they used a buffer on me that was from another client because the grit side was all scratched up. I had to stop the 3rd person from grit side buffing to remove the polish first.
Last but not least, they do a quick scrub the tubs with soapy water and rinse it out. Another state board violation. It is suppose to soak for a period of time with state approved cleaning solution.
I can't believed I paid them but I didn't think it was worth the fight at the time. You never use an item you've dropped on the floor. Ever.
And no person who is unlicensed should be doing services, even partial!
Do yourselves a favor and skip this place. Seriously.
Note to the employees: How about you actually talk to YOUR customers. Ask them questions. I felt I was treated very rudely. I had to keep interrupting Vietnamese conversations to get her to pay attention to the paying client. Ridiculous.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Johnnie R.San Lorenzo, CA418016Mar 2, 2017
Due to a thyroid issue, my natural nails are very thin and literally separating from the nail beds. Broken and painful.
Sparadise ladies understand my circumstances and are working with me to help grow out the separated nails. They are keeping my nails extremely short and covered with gel. They understand that I can't soak as the water goes under my nails. They are just the best and I appreciate them. I am driving from San Lorenzo to alameda to see them but I trust them.
When it comes time to take off the gel, they don't rush it. They soak my nails in the acetone until the polish bubbles and falls off. They are so careful with my fragile nails. They don't hurt me.
I'm going through a rough time with this nail thing. Thanks to Sparadise, at least my nails no longer hurt.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Bianca N.Oakland, CA15Jun 26, 2018
Everyone here is so friendly and nice!! They always have me leaving feeling on point, and satisfied with the color chosen.
A busy place so plan accordingly, and parking is of course difficult.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Natalie M.Medina, OH231216Mar 4, 2018
This was my first time at Sparadise. Linda did a great job on my gel nail design. I also got a clear coat pedicure but I didn't catch the technicians name. They did a great job on both mani and pedi. The technicians were very friendly and fun! The salon is very nicely decorated and fairly clean (decorations are a bit dusty and in need of some love). It was very cold day and I feel for the women working there because the salon was freezing, they were wearing their winter coats :( My only request would be that you get maybe two more minute massage on the arms and legs, but I came in an hour before closing and given the temperature I can't blame them for wanting to close up and go home. Overall I'll definitely be back!!

I got a gel manicure and a gel pedicure. I came here because the place I wanted to go to was booked.
1) It didn't seem like the person who helped me wanted to help me. A lot of hasty mistakes--forgetting to paint another layer on one hand before painting the top coat, smudging some off, spraying alcohol on the same hand twice.
2) I didn't love the way my nails were cleaned. Felt rushed.
3) I asked for a lighter color on my fingers than on my toes. Since this is gel, they have to go get the color themselves. I guess they got distracted because someone had to leave in the middle of her pedicure, so they rushed to finish her service. Then they went to get my colors. They got the right color for my toes, but painted the same color on my fingers. I didn't notice until halfway through the service because I, too, got distracted by everyone rushing to help that one lady.
4) The massage wasn't the best :/ I get pedicures for the massage more than anything and they, again, got distracted during my massages and did other things instead.
It wasn't the worst service I've ever received, but I'm probably never coming back, especially since there are so many other spots on Park that pay better attention to detail.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
