Sadly, I didn't get to take pictures at this restaurant. I very much enjoyed dining here as I found it to be an authentic restaurant, that also offered a good value. I came with a friend and split one of the executive menus, which comes with about 9 items, and we followed that with a bowl of Nikudon. Very tasty and a great way to end a Sunday exploring the Zona Rosa.

Craving good sushi in the middle of land-locked Mexico City? We did and stopped at Tokyo for lunch when the fast sushi place down the street didn't serve liquor my friend insisted was needed with his sushi.
Tokyo is a fairly ordinary restaurant with several separate rooms that make dining more intimate. The sashimi lunch "special" was also fairly ordinary with an American-centric selection of the usual tuna, salmon, imitation crab, squid, etc. The sashimi was ok but nothing to yelp about. Maybe I shouldn't have expected more fresh fish variety from Mexican ocean waters?
Service was the opposite of fast, and inattentive. Tables seated after us got to order first and received their dishes before us. We had to wave the wait staff down every time we needed them. Lunch took twice as long as we expected, so plan accordingly.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Michael C.Mt Sinai, Estados Unidos904728 jul 2020
Generic / not great and very expensive Japanese food.
Please avoid, better deals elsewhere (I hope!)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sadique A.Wilmington, Estados Unidos87024411 oct 2015
I went here two times during my stay in D.F. I had good experiences both times.
They have a pond with fish and a bridge over it that you cross to enter the restaurant. Too gimmicky for my taste.
Once you are inside though, it is a great experience. Casual settings and they have windows that open to Hamburgo and from there you can observe the hustle and bustle of the Zona Rosa.
The first time I went, I ordered the Green Tea, Nigiri Especial and Mackerel with rice. I asked them to not include the shrimp as I am not a big fan of shrimp in Nigiri form. The waiter was happy to substitute it with a salmon Nigiri. Both the Nigiri and the Mackerel were excellent.
The second time I ordered the Nigiri Regular, Spanish Mackerel, Rice and Green Tea. This time I forgot to mention that I don't want shrimp. The food was excellent again.
The nigiris included are different than what is on the photo in the menu - this is understandable, fish supplies change - so you may want to ask what is included.
Overall, a really good experience.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jeff I.San Jose, Estados Unidos981482764 abr 2017
This place was delicious. It was very similar to what I'm used to at home. It is typically more pricier than other options in the area. The entrance way to this restaurant is beautiful as there is a stone pathway that goes over a koi pond. I think their selection of sushi is quite impressive. The only thing that tasted a little different was the moisture in the rice. The restaurant is very clean and the service is wonderful. Have yourself a Sapporo and a bottle of sake!

I had high hopes for this restaurant. It was near our hotel, and we were looking forward to sushi. The ratings on Yelp were good as well. Sorry, but whoever gave this restaurant 4 stars did not eat the sushi. The rice was gummy, which is inexcusable in a Japanese restaurant. We ended up extracting the fish from the sushi and leaving most of the rice. The appetizer we had was good, and the tempura itself was good. But, the dipping sauce for the tempura was cold. In other words, no one in the kitchen really cared.

Normalmente no escribo ninguna crítica.
It was my first time to try some Japanese food here and I was so disappointed. They not only charged our money for tea services and miso soup, but also were not patient to service us. The sashimi salad was tasted not so good. We don't recommend others to try. And at the end, when I told them I need to pack the rest food away, the waitress just tried to take away all dishes. I was so afraid she was gonna to throw the rest food away which was they took the service fee without telling us. Thus we paid double tip for them.
Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Gusanette I.México, D.F.321413 ene 2015
Cool place, nice food, excellent attention. A little dark and the music could better... Other than that, I recommend this place to eat near downtown...
