AUBURN, Alabama - An estimated 2,500 Auburn students got an early glimpse of Halloween tonight when basketball coach Bruce Pearl made an appearance dressed as football coach Gus Malzahn during a promotional event.
Pearl and the men's basketball team hosted Pearl Jam, an event that allowed students to get acquainted with the Auburn basketball experience. After about 20 minutes of scrimmage, the team and staff disappeared into the tunnel to be introduced as if it were a game.
When it was Pearl's turn to emerge from the tunnel, he did so dressed as Gus Malzahn, complete with vest, visor, play cards, bifocals and the football coach's sideline signals for the hurry up offense.
