Parent involvement has always been a vital part of any child’s education, but the pandemic and resulting remote instruction require that parents and educators partner at a deeper level. Education authorities Doug Fisher, Nancy Frey, and John Hattie have teamed up with New York Times bestselling author and parenting expert Rosalind Wiseman to create The Distance Learning Playbook for Parents, the consummate guide to support your child′s academic, social, and emotional development in any learning environment – while not overwhelming you in the process.

This essential guide will equip parents and caregivers with the tools and insight to 1) create an environment conducive to learning, establish routines, and most importantly, take care of yourself and your child; 2) help your child develop the cognitive attitudes and habits that foster creativity, critical thinking, and increased responsibility for their learning, and 3) maximize the time you spend supporting learning by focusing on what is proven to work best in education

Ms. Wiseman is the co-founder of and chief content officer of Cultures of Dignity and the author of two New York Times best sellers: Queen Bees and Wannabes: Helping Your Daughter Survive Cliques, Gossip, Boyfriends, and the New Realities of Girl World (which was the basis for the movie and Broadway musical Mean Girls), and Masterminds & Wingmen: Helping Our Boys Cope with Schoolyard Power, Locker-Room Tests, Girlfriends, and the New Rules of Boy World, which addresses the social lives of boys.

Ms. Wiseman will be joined by Charlie Kuhn, the co-founder and CEO of Cultures of Dignity and a social educator, facilitator, and education consultant. Also joining will be Katrina Fernandez, the director of multi-tiered system support for the Adams 12 Five Star Schools district in Denver, CO.
