ITU celebrates 150th anniversary in 2015
Secretary-General announces partners at Plenipotentiary Conference
Busan, 21 October 2014 – The year 2015 marks a major
milestone in the history of the International Telecommunication Union. ITU’s 150th
Anniversary celebration will be an opportunity for ITU and its Members to honour
the past as well as launch activities for the future. ITU Secretary-General
Hamadoun I. Touré announced partners at ITU’s 150th Anniversary Launch Event
during the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference in Busan, Republic of Korea. He also
invited others to support this important celebration.
The 150th Anniversary celebrations will begin on 1 January 2015
launching a year-long series of activities.
The following confirmed partners were announced for ITU’s 150th
Anniversary:
